How to Create Sitemap for Your Website or Blog?
I recommend using Yoast SEO for better use of the sitemap. Because here, you don’t need to submit the sitemap every time when you update your blog.
But before doing this, you have to submit your site to Google search console. Because it generates a sitemap automatically and sends to Google search console.
So, you have to complete this step to become a professional blogger or website owner.
I have two methods to submit sitemap to Google. One for the WordPress users and the second method for non-WordPress users.

Method 1: For WordPress Users to Add sitemap to Google
Add Your Website to Google Search Console
To add your website to Google search console tool, just go to Google webmaster tool and click on Add property.
After that, you will see a page like below image –
it asks you to verify your property. You have to verify your property using Google methods.
As a recommended method, you have to upload the HTML verification file to your web hosting. After upload, the file clicks on 3rd step provided in the verification process to confirm that you have uploaded the file.
if Google found that file, your website will be verified.
If you unable to verify your property using this method, you have alternative methods to verify your property.
I recommend using the 2nd method “Domain name provider”. Just select this and click on verify button.
After that, it will show you some web hosting and domain name provider list. Choose your domain name provider and click ok.
Your website will be verified to access your account and adding your website sitemap.
Now, you have to authenticate your Google search console account to your WordPress website. Just install the Yoast SEO plugin and follow the below steps.
Authenticate Your Website with Yoast to Send Auto Sitemap
It’s so easy to authenticate your site with Yoast. You just need to follow few steps and done.
You just need to install and activate the Yoast SEO plugin as seen below image.
After installing and activate the Yoast, go the settings and locate the search console. In the search console, you will see 4 tabs for desktop, smartphone, feature phone, and settings.
Click on the settings tab and it will ask you to authenticate to Google. Simply click on that and it will ask you to get Google authorization code like below image.
After clicking on the button, you will be redirected to the Google search console for getting the code.
A single window pop-up will open, and you have to sign in using your Gmail id on which you have created your webmaster account.
The process takes minimum 45 seconds to get your code. After getting the code, copy that and paste in the box and click on Authenticate button.
After that, it will ask you to select the property that will be your website name and click on. That’s it, your account has been successfully added to the Yoast.
How to Find Your Sitemap in Yoast?
Simple, Your generated sitemap can accessible now on –
Just need to go your account in Google search console and click to add sitemap.
You don’t need to create sitemap, just paste the sitemap_index.xml in sitemap in Google and done!

Method 2: For Non-WordPress Users like Blogger and WordPress Users Can Also Use this Method
This is not so different method than WordPress. But here you have to create sitemap every time when you update your site.
Basically, it’s a sitemap generator tool where you have to generate sitemap and then submit sitemap to Google search console.
- Go to the XML-sitemap generator
- Paste your website URL
- And click on the start button
- After creating a sitemap, download it
- Upload the generated sitemap to your web hosting
- Go the Google search console and click to add sitemap
- Add your sitemap and done!
Note: You have to generate sitemap and upload to the web hosting storage every time when you update your website.
You can use any sitemap generator to create sitemap. I recommend using XML-sitemap generator. it’s best to use and the perfect way to create sitemap online.
How to Index Blog/Website Links Fast within 5 Seconds
To index your blog pages fast in Google, Google already has an option to index site pages manually.
Basically, the Sitemap is the automatic way to index links by Google. But when you need to index manually, Google has “Fetch as Google” option.
Follow the steps as given in the above image.
- Go to the Google search console
- Click on Crawl in the left sidebar
- Select fetch as Google
- Click your web page or post link permalink and click to fetch
- In the status, you can see the post link status. Just click to request indexing and done!
- Your site link has been successfully indexed and you can find it within a second on Google search results
This is the manual method to index your web page links. Just do it now and index your site fast. But don’t forget to create sitemap first.
